Hacking Households are a part of the exhibition Off the Grid between 22 - 28 February at this year's Munich Creative Business Week. The exhibition showcases the latest stances on design that address the problem and aim at changing perspectives and illustrating alternatives through future-oriented concepts and design-fiction. It presents speculative design as a tool for making fictional reality tangible and serve as a catalyst for innovation. With their showcase Hacking Households raise the question of what would happen, if objects were produced the way open-source software is developed.

Since its inception, Munich Creative Business Week (MCBW), the largest design event held in Germany for designers and contractors, has become one of the main attractions for top international designers, architects, creative people, business and economic sector representatives and all those who have a general interest in design. Various events such as conferences, workshops, exhibitions, annually attract a growing number of designers from around the world. MCBW presents topics that focus on current trends and topics of discussion in society, while maintaining a focus on sustainability of products and services as well as the advancement of young professionals. This year's week focuses on Design connects!
