Collective OAZA publication launched this February contains all realized activities within the initiative “Project Ilica“ and maps craftsmen, their activities, and profiles in VOL 1 Registry of Knowledge holders. It also includes the contextualization of the project from different perspectives. Jan Boelen explores the role of designers in social design, while mentors of Nanotourism Tina Gregorič and Aljoša Dekleva explain the participatory value of the project in the context of the alternative tourism Zagreb. The publication creates a space for dialogue between potential participants in the project and draws attention to the specifics modes of social design. This case study represents the first step towards the establishment of a development model for local communities and the methodology is in the near future going to be implemented at the regional level – specifically in Belgrade and Skopje.
