Perpetuum is a Latin synonym for sustainability and at the same time joint name of a project on alternatives in fashion and ambient textile design, initiated by the Department of Textile and Fashion Design at the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Engineering in Ljubljana in the academic year 2013/14. The exhibition, in the spirit of sustainability placed in the container that served its turn, presents products of students who express their thoughts on environmentally-friendly methods and concepts, innovative techniques and technologies as well as ethics and responsibility.

Project Perpetuum combines a cycle of lectures held throughout the year, workshops, collecting old clothes, sharing clothes and goods and other activities focusing on topic of sustainable fashion and textile design. The most important parts are projects of students of the Department of Textile and Fashion Design at the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Engineering of the University of Ljubljana, where they express alternatives they see in fashion. In the collections of clothes, fashion accessories, textiles and textile accessories for interior they embedded their own thoughts on new, environmentally-friendly methods and concepts, innovative techniques and technologies as well as ethics and responsibility. In the spirit of sustainability they selected a container glazed from all sides, which became an improvised, free-standing exhibition space.

The exhibition on sustainable culture which was explored by the Perpetuum project, will be placed directly in the urban space and accessible to all passers-by.

Prepared by the Department of Textile and Fashion Design, Faculty of Natural Sciences and Engineering of the University of Ljubljana.
