Dutch design ambassadors @ BIO 50
Friday: 10.00–14.00 upon prior arrangement.

The residence of the Netherlands’ Ambassador in Ljubljana will exhibit contemporary Dutch design furniture. Exhibition was prepared by renowned Dutch architect and designer Rianne Makkink, co-founder of Studio Makkink & Bey, in cooperation with Museum of Architecture and Design in Ljubljana and studio Strle Svetila. Exhibition is part of BIO 50 program and furniture fair Ambient. A public debate on contemporary design, moderated by Jan Boelen, curator of BIO 50, will take place at the same venue.
The Netherlands’ Ambassador’s residence in Ljubljana is well positioned to host such an exhibition, being an outstanding example of contemporary Slovene architecture, designed by architects Matija Bevk, Vasa Perović and Blaž Kandus. It is a modern residence, one of a series of buildings purposely built for the Dutch Foreign Ministry. Combination of natural materials, shifting panels and lots of glass give the residence a flexible and transparent living environment.
Exhibition for designers, architects and general public will be open upon prior arrangement on Fridays between 10:00 and 14:00. From 7 to 11 October exhibition will be open every day between 10:00 and 14:00 upon prior arrangements. Limited number of visitors can be hosted at once.
