IGNORANCE = DARKNESS = OBSTACLE. A well designed and accessible space is a fundamental right of everyone.

We all design space and in return a space designs us, but a lot of people are not aware how strong the influence of both space and architecture is on our daily lives, health, welfare, etc. Good architecture of public buildings should therefore provide a positive experience for all users in terms of accessibility, health, welfare, prosperity, and energy efficiency. The aim of the exhibition IGNORANCE = DARKNESS = OBSTACLE. A well designed and accessible space is a fundamental right of everyone, is to highlight and demonstrate the importance of designing space in a way that is accessible to all users. Thus, with three different sets within the framework of exhibition different ways of perception of space and its elements are exposed, i.e., from the level of public space and architecture to the level of the living room and living space of everyday life.

The exhibition IGNORANCE = DARKNESS = OBSTACLE. A well designed and accessible space is a fundamental right of everyone, draws nearer the world of architecture and design to generally neglected and excluded population of people with obstruction, for it will be placed in a way that will lead people with obstruction to the world of architecture and forms and bring products that represent achievements in the profession closer to them. A leaflet in Braille and sign lettering will also be published.

Exhibition is organized by the Institute for Regional Innovativeness AFRONT in collaboration with: Open House Slovenia, Association of the Blind and Visually Impaired of Slovenia, Association of the Deaf and Hearing Impaired, Association of Persons with Disabilities Slovenia, Committee for the Elimination of architectural barriers, Geodetic Institute of Slovenia.
