Still Walking, The Agency of Walking (Walking the City)

If we imagine an individual walking through the city, carving one path, we can imagine one million people walking through the city carving one path. Here we understand the intersection of pathways, that movements through the city are in fact not only guided by physical substrates but also by other people, their rhythms, patterns and paces.

In Still Walking we take the basic action of walking and fragment it, down to its most base elements, movement, stillness and the transference of weight. These elements combined into designed scores, make tangible what is seemingly invisible, the complex experience of bodies moving through public space. In an interactive image that is at once a performance and a participative act, we invite you to step into the rhythm dialogue of Still Walking. It is an endless negotiation between a written script (score), a body as an individual, a body in a group and public space. Still Walking allows you explore, your own individual rhythms, and how these rhythms intersect in public space.
