Modulart

The bag is an ideal means of communication and it presents an alternative possibility for promotion and popularization of visual arts, also outside the institutional frameworks. Bags from the collection Modulart are composed of modular units, which are designed by a designer Neli Štrukelj and developed by a computer program in the three-dimensional shape, cut by a laser, and composed only by sticking into the desired shape. The originality of the project is reflected in the innovative method of creating three-dimensional forms where elements and knowledge of fashion and industrial design intertwine and are complemented with design for the environment and technology for rapid prototyping. Modular concept allows easy changing of form and function and thus the development of multiple versions of objects. Therefore, the project Modulart discusses current topics in design and seeks solutions to the current challenges of urban environment through research and innovation-based approach. Products of Modulart collection will be presented at a one-day event and later as a part of the sale exhibition in the premises of Squat.
